We operate between Miyaura Port, the ferry terminal, and Tsutsujiso, passing through the Honmura district where the Art House Project is located. Beyond Tsutsujiso is the museum area. From Tsutsujiso onwards, please travel on foot or use the "Benesse Art Site Naoshima on-site shuttle bus."
The town bus is a community bus that serves as a lifeline for town residents, with bus stops located throughout Naoshima. You might even have fun interactions with fellow town residents on board. The town bus has a capacity of 28 people, so it may be full at times. If you cannot get on board, you may have to wait for the next bus.For groups of 10 or more, please contact the Naoshima Town Tourism Association (087-892-2299) in advance. We will operate temporary buses depending on the situation. Please note that bus services from Tsutsujiso to Noukyo-mae and Miyanoura Port on weekend afternoons and holidays are very crowded, and you may not be able to board. We cannot be held responsible for boarding ferries etc.
The fare is 100 yen per ride for adults (junior high school students and above), and 50 yen for children aged 5 to elementary school students and individuals with a disability certificate (including one accompanying person). No tickets are required; please deposit coins into the fare box when you alight. (There is no change machine, so please have coins ready before boarding.)
We strive to ensure comfortable travel for customers in wheelchairs, but depending on the number of passengers, vehicle equipment, and operating conditions, we may not be able to accommodate them. Therefore, customers planning to use the town bus in a wheelchair are requested to contact the Naoshima Town Tourism Association (TEL: 087-892-2299) in advance.
Town Bus Timetable
The town bus's final stop is Tsutsujiso. The museum area beyond Tsutsujiso (Benesse Art Site Naoshima) is also within the Setonaikai National Park area, and Benesse Art Site Naoshima recommends enjoying the scenery and outdoor artworks while walking. The number of shuttle buses within the site is limited, and while additional buses are added during peak season, not everyone will be able to board.
