The Mitsubishi Materials Naoshima Smelter, which has been in operation since 1917 (Taisho 6) on a site of approximately 1.81 million square meters in the northern part of Naoshima, focusing on copper smelting, will this year100th anniversary of our foundingwas welcomed.

To make more people aware of the Naoshima Smelter, they offer public tours of the plant.
They offer a "Plant Tour" where you can observe smelting processes (copper smelting plant, copper electrolysis plant, precious metals plant) right before your eyes and touch a pure gold ingot, and an "Eco Tour" where you can learn about the recycling of valuable metals through video viewing and observation.
Also, applications for tours are accepted by the Naoshima Town Tourism Association.
